Proxy: Battlegrounds

Command from above. Fight from inside.

Mine scrap, build a base, then proxy into any bot and fight as it. Destroy the Hominid Empire core before they destroy yours.

Free in your browser. This is an invite-only playtest, so you'll need the password you were sent.

Drag a box over the art to select units.

Concept art. The prototype doesn't look like this yet.

Run the base, then step into a bot.

Every match has two views, and you can switch between them mid-fight. Plan from above, then take the controls yourself when it counts.

Concept art of a walled android outpost seen from above, with a starport pad, power station, turrets and blue energy crystals.

Command view

Look down on the battlefield. Send workers to mine scrap, raise barracks, factories and a starport, then drag-select your army and tell it where to go.

  • Dragselect units
  • Right-clickmove, attack, mine
  • Qselect the army
  • Eselect workers
Concept art of android troopers, a hover humvee, two fighters and a medic bot firing green lasers across rusted ground.

Proxied

Pick any unit you own and take it over. A proxied unit is stronger and faster than the same unit left to itself. Jump back to command view whenever you need the big picture.

  • Hproxy in or out
  • WASDmove
  • Clickaim and fire
  • Right-clickspecial ability
  • Vfirst or third person
  • Tabnext unit

What you can field.

The Android Alliance builds fast and fights rusty. This is everything in the current prototype.

Before a match, choose a loadout for your workers, troopers and pilots. Each has three options, from a dodge roll to active camo.

The Hominid Empire brings a Battle Cruiser late on Normal, and from the start on Hard. Build a Starport to field your own.

Bring up to three friends.

Co-op runs right in the browser. No account and no download. Play solo on Easy, Normal or Hard, or team up against the Empire.

  1. Choose Host co-op and share the four-letter code.
  2. Friends choose Join co-op and type it in.
  3. Everyone picks Commander or Worker, then presses Ready.

Ready to try it?

The prototype is open to invited friends for now. Open the play page, enter the password you were sent, and start a match.

What you need. A desktop or laptop with a keyboard and mouse, and a current browser. A phone or tablet won't work well yet.
